With the publication of Defra’s Environmental Improvement Programme 2025 (EIP25) in December 2025, we now know the UK will be increasingly looking towards the EU’s legislative process as a starting point for future UK REACH decisions to help minimise some administrative burden. However, more certainty is still needed for businesses, particularly on the ‘real’ costs for industry having to comply with two sets of regulation (EU and UK REACH). This seminar builds on the success of previous years’ events providing a platform to explore the uncertainties on UK chemical policy and hear more on the actions outlined in the EIP25 for chemicals such as, for example, what the PFAS Action Plan will entail, as well as the latest on CLP/BPR reforms and implementation of the Government’s strategy for moving towards more uptake and regulatory acceptance of New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for assessing chemical safety.
Attendees will hear the latest developments from UK regulators and other industry experts on UK chemicals management policy topics with a look also towards the EU’s REACH Revision process as the UK seeks closer alignment on chemical legislation. There will be opportunities throughout the day to ask our speakers questions during our informal Q&A sessions.A nominal fee is charged for full CIA members.
